Youth co-authorship as public engagement with geoengineering

Large-scale intervention in the Earth’s climate system is increasingly present discussions about possible responses to change. Young people’s perspectives have tended be under-represented despite intergenerational consequences of policy this field. We report on a novel approach research and practice: co-creation youth guide brief by participants facilitators. The model offers potential use practitioners for engaging publics at early stages technoscientific innovations. Findings fall into two categories: priorities geoengineering authorial responsibility as way supporting action. Tentative conclusions from are (i) action must prioritised now mitigate adapt change, rather than continuing with ‘business usual’; (ii) there need proactive international cooperation governance understand environmental social proposals people different temporal spatial scales.
